Most people have thyroid nodules
Thyroid nodules impact 70-80 percent of adults in their lifetime. The standard of care is surgical removal of half or all of the gland. But in recent years, nonsurgical treatment options have become available -- and your doctor might not know about them.
Hi, my name is Jennifer Holkem and I advocate for fellow patients suffering with this very common condition. In this podcast, I sit down with both physicians and patients to shed light on thyroid nodules and the non-surgical options now available to treat them.
My personal story
After being diagnosed with a large, benign thyroid nodule, facing years of symptoms, confusion, and pressure to undergo surgery, I made a different choice. I turned to research, prayed, asked hard questions, and eventually discovered radiofrequency ablation (RFA), a minimally invasive treatment that allowed me to keep my thyroid — and reclaim my health. Here's my whole story:

I created this podcast not just to share my personal journey, but also to interview patients and physicians; to offer real stories, medical insight, and hope for those navigating this common but often misunderstood condition. This platform exists to empower others with information, alternatives, and a voice in their own care.
Navigating Thyroid Nodule Treatment
When I needed a nonsurgical solution, I struggled to find patient-oriented information on nonsurgical options. I eventually found the right care—but it took persistence, research, and a lot of prayer.
Since then, I’ve heard from thousands of patients with the same frustrations. I’ve spent years learning from leading physicians, building a patient community, and sharing what I’ve learned through my podcast.
Now, I’m offering one-on-one consultations to help others find their way through the same healthcare maze.
You're not alone. There are options. Let's talk about them.
