Dr. Emad Kandil is a highly ranked endocrine surgeon with a passion for helping patients shrink thyroid nodules and cancers using radiofrequency ablation, a nonsurgical, thyroid-sparing technique. Dr. Kandil is the Chief of General, Endocrine and Oncological Surgery at Tulane University Medical School in New Orleans, Lousianna. As an early adopter of thyroid RFA, he has performed a very high volume of procedures and been involved in numerous physician trainings at his institution. The last time we spoke, the majority of his patients were traveling from out of  state for treatment of their thyroid nodules. In today's discussion, we'll cover topics such as his large volume of cases, the value of RFA  to patients, conscious sedation, and much more.
