Becki underwent percutaneous laser ablation treatment to shrink her largest thyroid nodule. Newly available in the United States, laser ablation shrinks thyroid nodules without surgery. Because of this heat based, NONSURGICAL procedure, Becki was able to save her thyroid and preserve its natural function.
